Description

Overview:

Another popular member from the “800 Alloy” group, the Incoloy 800HT, is also termed as Nickel Alloy 800HT. Most of its characteristics are similar to others in the family. However, a slight change in aluminum, carbon, & titanium brings in the difference between these alloys.

The right way to understand how 800HT is different from that of 800H is to decode its chemical composition. The Incoloy 800HT tends to stay within the feature limits of 800H. However, the opposite might not be true.

Key Features:

  • Corrosion Resistance: The addition of nickel & chromium to 800HT ensures excellent carburization, oxidation, & sulfidation.
  • Organic Media Resistance: This alloy also flaunts great resistance to widely found organic media components such as acetic, formic, as well as propionic acids.
  • High Heat Fabrication: Alloy 800HT is known to fabricate easily in high heat between 1200°F & 1600°F. However, anything below this leads to improper fabrication.
  • High Resistance to Creep Rupture: Incoloy 800HT has better creep-rupture resistance strength as compared to Alloy 800 given the close control for Al, Ti, & C.

Product Forms Available:

  • Bar
  • Welded Pipe
  • Seamless Pipe

Applications:

  • Industrial furnace & boiler components
  • Hydrocarbon cracking
  • Heat treatment equipment
  • Heat exchangers & pressure vessels
  • Petrochemical & chemical processing

Possible Alternative Grades:

  • Alloy 800: For industrial applications with stress-corrosion resistance, the Alloy 800 fits the bill perfectly as an alternative for 800HT.
  • Alloy 800H: This nickel-chromium-iron alloy is a great alternative for 800HT and packs in high resistance from creep rupture that might occur during welding processes.
